A Carpet for All
Funded Aug 2, 2023Your gift to my classroom is a daily reminder of your generosity. The quality of the classroom carpet is so nice and it will be able to be used for many years to come. I am very proud of how our classroom looks and it would not have been possible without your help. My students spend much time on the carpet each day reading, learning, and completing their daily work.
Not only does the carpet provide a practical space for first graders to work it has added an inviting aspect to the room. It is bright, cheery and has completed our classroom decor quite nicely. I cannot thank you enough for your help.”

Funded Jul 17, 2023Thank you for your generous gift to our classroom. Beginning this school year was quite challenging due to setting up a new classroom. Creating a new space takes much time and comes at great expense. Your thoughtfulness allowed me to design an inviting atmosphere for all students to feel at home and welcome.
Your gift purchased colorful wall decorations as well as bulletin board supplies. The room is colorful, bright and I appreciate the new decor so much. It brings a smile to my face each day.”

Funded Sep 6, 2022I cannot thank you enough for your generous support In "I Can Read, Now What?" This project has allowed me to open the world of reading print for enjoyment with my students who are beyond a typical first grade reader. The second grade scholastic magazines you helped purchase have been interesting and engaging. The students look forward to reading them. Thank you again for your kindness. Something I'd also like you to know is that after seeing how excited these students were I ended up working with another teacher to purchase a set of First Grade Scholastic magazines for our on level students as well. Everyone needs to love what they read.”

We Aren't Fools With Our Gold!
Funded Aug 10, 2022What excitement and wonder my students had upon seeing our bag of "golden" nuggets. They were very eager to receive their own gold holder and being working towards earning pieces of gold.
At this time we are using the nuggets to reinforce hallway expectations. Students receive a piece of gold each time they follow our school wide expectations while in the hallway. Once they have received three pieces of gold they turn their gold in for a dojo point. Then they begin working towards their second set of gold.
The kids love the shiny nuggets and it's a new way to encourage everyone to always do their best. Thank you again for supporting my classroom! You have made a first grader's day!”

Funded May 7, 2021I want to thank you for your donation that helped me buy a class set of pop-its. The students are simply overjoyed with this math tool. We are currently using the pop-its to add and count on and will continue to use them for adding, subtracting, and identifying letters or words.
Pop-its have created a fun learning environment where kids are excited about math. Students receive their own tool. We say the big number in the addition problem. Then we press down the number of circles for the smaller add end. Next, we say the big number again as we flip our pop-it over and push the circles back down while counting on.
This tool has encouraged my struggling learners to keep working and not give up while allowing those who "catch on" quick to enjoy the process of allowing peers extra time to learn. All in all, it has been a huge success that would not be possible without your generous donation!”

Funded Nov 13, 2020Thank you so much for making my project a reality. This year has been very difficult to balance in person and virtual learning because of COVID safety restrictions. Your support allowed me to purchase a camera and other materials that helped me created engaging videos and lessons.
I was also able to reach my students, teach content, and build relationships safely through Google classroom, YouTube videos, and Zoom video conferencing. My students were able to grow and develop crucial first grade skills. Thank you again.”
