Healthy Sensory Play During a Pandemic

My students are using the color changing light table every day! We have recently been learning about fairy tales and make-believe, and they love building castles with the crystal climber building set! They love choosing what color setting for the table while they are building and exploring. They are proud of their creations and enjoy sharing their them with their friends. I am seeing that the students are staying actively engaged at the color changing light table.

When my students first saw the color changing light table, they were so excited! Many of them said, "Wow! This is so cool!" We started with a fine motor tracing activity on the light table, and they were all eager to have a turn. They also enjoy the translucent number and letter set and the translucent imagination builder set.

Our next steps in our classroom are to purchase class sets of outdoor play equipment so that each student can have their own equipment. This will also be beneficial in keeping the children healthy during the global pandemic. Next, I will be looking to purchase items like jump ropes, hula hoops, and sidewalk chalk. These items will encourage students in their physical activity and contribute to remaining active and engaged during outdoor play.”
