Bring the Stage to Life!
Funded Nov 10, 2023Thank you for your generous donation. With your help, both the drama club and the music class productions will be able to be amazing for years to come. Most of the cast are new to performing, these microphones will be perfect for helping take the nerves out of projecting their voice in our performance space.
When the cast was told about being gifted microphones, their faces lit up with joy. Though I must say, I am not sure who was more excited, the students or myself. Having these microphones at the school has created the opportunity to have more interactive grade level programs. As well as being able to not have to rely on the availability and borrowing of microphones from within our school district.
The words "Thank you" are not enough to express my gratitude for your support. Please know that will every performance, a smile and a Thank You will be sent out and lifted up for you and yours.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Wink
Rockin' Recorders
Funded Oct 28, 2021Thank you so very much for your donation! To see the joy and excitement on my student's faces when we received the instruments was a wonderful site to behold.
I was able to pass instruments out to the students just in time for them to take the recorder home for Winter Break. I'm sure their parents were not quite as excited as I was to have the instruments during break but I couldn't let them have two weeks off from practicing! (Ha!) However I did receive a video from a parent with the student performing Hot Cross Buns! That video actually made my break even more fun! And encouraged me to find more fun pieces of music for the students to play.
I know some students are not as comfortable playing by themselves in class. By the students having instruments and school computers at home, the students who are shy have a way for them to "play off" their classroom songs without having the fear of being embarrassed. For this reason, I am even more grateful for your donation. I like encouraging my students to perform but don't want them the feel the pressure of playing alone. I tell them how much I understand their nervousness, how I am four times their age and still get nervous playing alone. These "shy" students have even sent additional playing videos of songs they found elsewhere, like "Baby Shark". Your donation has provided an outlet and comfort for students to be able to show their talents by having time to perform without fear of judgement.
Thank You is not enough to show how much your donation means to my students, hopefully you can feel our joy through these stories!”

Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you kindly for your generous donation to all the students at Shwab Elementary! I am very excited about utilizing our seats and having more instrument storage available for the students. My students enjoy the alternative seating that I use and now with the bucket seats with we will be even more comfortable. I can’t hardly wait to start the new semester with our seats!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 4 other donors.Ringing Out Our Talents!
Funded Dec 29, 2020Please accept my sincerest Thank You for your donation to the Ringing Out Our Talents project. I am not sure who was more excited about the instruments, the students or myself!
I am currently teaching "On A Cart" so with these instruments being small I am able to transport them easily into the classrooms. We have recently started using the instruments as a review of all the music elements we have learned this year. I am especially happy with the bells because unlike other instruments that when pitch changes the size of the instrument changes, all of these bells are the same size. This ensures that the students must actually train their ears and use them to properly place the notes in order. We have made it a game to see who can order the notes the fastest! It can get quite loud and exciting watching kindergarteners cheer for each other. It's exceptionally cute!
The older students have enjoyed mixing up the note cards to create their own melodies. I wish you could have seen the looks on the faces of the students (and teachers) when I placed the adapted bells in front of the Exceptional Education students. Their teachers were elated with the modified bells and their inclusion in class activities.
Thank you for helping me share more ways to learn about and create music with my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Wink
