The materials and supplies I have requested will assist my students in learning about science, technology, engineering, art, and math. During the year, we will be learning all about chickens, eggs, and where they come from. We will not only be learning about the chicken but the egg as well. Why do my eggshells break so easily and how can I tell an unfertilized egg for a fertilized egg? We will learn about the life cycle of a chicken, what they eat, and what they need. We will be using the incubator to hatch our own chickens. We will complete some egg science experiments, visiting a chicken farm virtually, and taking a field trip to the egg factory to see how it goes from farm to table. Students will engineer a drop cage for an egg made from straws, craft sticks, tape, glue, and rubber bands for an egg drop challenge. The 3D filament will then be used for students to code and create a 3D print of a chicken or an egg of their choice. We would greatly appreciate your help in making this year’s project something we will remember!
