As a school psychologist, I work with the entire school! And while some students swing by just to say hello, others are in it for the long haul. My students love the opportunity to talk in a safe space and do new "activities," but special education evaluations can also be both long and draining. They are asked to put forth their best effort - to work hard, to work quickly, to put 110% of their attention to task, and to never give up. These prize box supplies will help my students feel appreciated for all of their hard work, and motivated to continue doing their best during their next special education testing session! The educational supplies will also help to keep learning fun and exciting beyond my office! Some of the prize items include stress balls, PlayDoh, and crayons (for coloring pages) which are helpful tools for emotional regulation. Bookmarks, pencil cases, pencils, erasers and sharpeners were also included as helpful school supplies for everyday use. Lastly, stickers and tattoos make great positive reinforcers! Even in a distance learning model, special education testing must go on, and these in-person sessions are a wonderful opportunity to reinvigorate their spirits!
