This year, we need to be able to toggle between in-person and virtual learning on the flip of a dime. In order to be able to do that effectively, students need to have all of the supplies they need to be successful in either environment. With the items from this project, I will be able to scaffold academic instruction for my students so that they can continue to learn and grow throughout this year. Many of my students quickly run out of paper in the virtual space. The composition notebooks, whiteboards, and whiteboard markers will ensure they are able to practice their writing and math skills at home. The blue light glasses will ensure they do not get headaches from the extended screen time, and the headphones will ensure they are able to hear me effectively as I teach. The ring light and laptop stand will help my students be able to see me clearly, and the document camera will enable me to project my modeled work on the computer in real time. In addition, it is imperative to support our students' socioemotional needs this year. The continuous changes, pervasive fear of sickness, and extended time home can take a toll on students' mental health. This in turn can affect their academic success. In this project, I'm asking for mindfulness texts to help teach my students effective coping strategies, as well as Play Doh which can be used as a calming tool.
