My students are in and out of the classroom as they are dealing with needing to quarantine while school continues on primarily face to face. To facilitate more digital overlap and to make it easier for students to complete their artwork both in and out of school, we will be using the iPad and stylus to photograph their work so that they can keep a digital portfolio. We will also be using the iPad so that we have increased options for interactive learning activities where touch screens are helpful, for example with Nearpod activities and creating digital artwork. The iPad can also be used to meet digitally via video chat and connect with students who are unable to attend school in person. The hardboard panels will be issued to each student and returned at the end of the semester so that they can be reused from year to year. Students who need to work at home will have a dedicated art surface that they can paint and draw on giving them flexibility for where they create work (while keeping their kitchen tables protected!).
