The Makey Makey is an electronic invention that my middle school students use. that allows them to take everyday objects and combine them with the internet. My students can build whimsical inventions, create interactive art, and compose electronic music. When they clip real-world things to Makey Makey, it turns the objects into keyboard keys, so they can control their computer with anything from a carrot to a bowl of water. They can play Super Mario Bros. with blobs of Play-Doh, make Pac-Man eat ghosts with a controller they draw in pencil or jam out with banana bongos. Anything that conducts even a tiny bit of electricity can become a key! Makey Makey is truly plug-and-play, both for the computer they control and for the objects they choose for input.
