Science has proven the connection between movement and brain activity. Focused exercises can help to narrow the gap by creating new paths in the brain. I would like to create a "Brain Course" for my special education students. I have seen the benefits of these activities. Students can re-train the brain in varies ways. For example, activities that have students crossing the mid-line, train the corpus callosum to better communicate. Students with retained Moro reflexes can improve by consistent movements. The students would be able to participate along side their peers. This would also help to build culture of acceptance. Students with special needs are occasionally excluded from participating due to restrictions that come with the disability. Movement activities are for everyone.
