  • School Supplies for Grade 5

    Funded Aug 27, 2022

Thanks to your generous donations my students will be able to start the school year off with everything they need to learn! I am truly touched that you chose me and my students to support! I can't wait to start the year and share with my students these materials and how they were provided by such wonderful people!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. MacIntosh

  • Wonderful Whiteboards

    Funded Nov 27, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation toward individual whiteboards and markers for the students in my classroom. With your donation, each student received a good quality personal whiteboard, as well as a 4 pack of dry erase markers!! The students use their whiteboards several times throughout the school day. During math the students use the whiteboards for computation or as an assessment tool to show understanding of a new skill. The whiteboards are used to check in on student feelings, or a check or minus to monitor comfort or understanding of a new topic. We most recently used the whiteboards for test prep. The students would share their multiple choice answers on their whiteboards.

Participating in a donors choose project was exciting. The students were thrilled when they arrived to find brand new materials on their desks! Who doesn't love new stuff!! They were even more excited to learn that they had been donated by complete strangers...out of the goodness in the hearts!! They have taken such good care to keep track of all of their markers, and making sure their whiteboards stay clean.

The whiteboards are so versatile! We will continue to use them daily in math and I am constantly thinking of ways that we can use them for end of year activities and reflection.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. MacIntosh

A donation of whiteboards and markers will provide a sense of normalcy, an opportunity to complete paperless activities like math computation, and help the teacher assess understanding. The students of Brockton Public Schools are fully remote. The remote learning model has required creativity and resourcefulness to replicate a classroom experience through a computer screen. These whiteboards and markers will help support learning through a remote platform. Each student will receive an individual whiteboard. These will be used to compute math problems, and show student progress. These whiteboards can be used as check-ins in other subject areas.
