Learning Letters With Light - Hands-on Exploration

Thank you very much for making our light table experience possible! The kids have been excited to use it since they first spied it at orientation. They can't believe there are so many different options for lights and different beads. The table has been a point of excitement and discussion almost every day.

Students have hunted for letters, numbers, and created stories with different animal scenes so far this year. Even my students that have little interest in school anxiously wait for their turn at the light table. I was surprised by how much engagement a simple light can provide to the students.

I hope you enjoy the pictures included. We have used the light table with blue plastic discs, green spheres, and taken the container off completely to build letters with see through pieces. Some of the students have even asked to complete the activity again just so they can use the table. The different sensory items have been wonderful for my students that need the tactile experience while learning.
