  • Game On

    This was a really need project during the learning at home phase of school. The excitement around getting a basketball hoop to have in your house was rewarding. We had a few students who lived close to each other and they had a shoot out competition via FaceTime. It was great seeing them connect virtually and show some of that energy we typically see in the building.

    Another part that this project did was get some students moving again and that did increase engagement in the online classroom.

Due to the pandemic, we have been at home working while are students are doing the best they can. The regular interactions to use sports to build community, relieve stress, manage frustrations, and improve team-building skills. Game On will provide our group of boys with at-home game gear for us to host regular "game days". Using the hops, dart board, and board games, students will be able to engage virtually in a competitive way that allows them a chance to build those needed skills. Additionally, my students need a way to safely do the things they do while building relationships.

About my class
