How Do Colors Affect Mood & Emotions?
Funded Mar 15, 2022With these new resources, my students are able to explore color theory through color mixing. In my color theory lesson, students learned the science behind why colors create certain moods, and how people are affected by certain colors. Why they appear the way they do, and how they interact with each other. With these new resources, students were able to physically mix colors in front of them in order to better understand each color's relationship.
When my students first received the materials, they were overjoyed with getting to explore how to use the various materials. With school being in person this year, students were able to share what they created using the materials with their fellow classmates. I could see how excited the students were to be able to share those feelings with their classmates.
The next steps for my students are to use their knowledge of color theory in combination with facial proportions to create a painting of someone who is important to them in their lives. The students will use materials such as paint brushes and paint palletes to bring their portraits to life. Students will be able to further explore color and express themselves with the resources that were gratefully gifted from Donors Choose.”
With gratitude,

Funded Dec 1, 2020With these new resources, my students are able to explore color theory through color mixing. In my color wheel lesson, students learned the science behind colors. Why they appear the way they do, and how they interact with each other. With these new resources, students were able to physically mix colors in front of them in order to better understand each color's relationship.
When I distributed the materials that I recieved from Donors Choose, the students were beyond excited. Due to distance learning, and having to teach over Zoom, many students believed they were not going to get the full "art" experience. However, through this program it was possible to give students that chance to use materials at home. I could feel the enthusiasm from the students upon seeing the materials, it made me that much more excited as a teacher.
