Reading can open the door to so many things. The stories that I have requested are comprised of sight words. Sight words are hard to learn in isolation, but in context students get a better understanding and grasp. These stories are specifically targeted to help students learn their sight words, while still being fun. Learning to read can be challenging and meeting readers at their levels can help to increase independence and confidence. The Margarette Hillert series allow students to gain the sight word practice that they need in a fun and engaging way. It also provides them the opportunity to read independently.
