Funded Apr 7, 2021My scholars were thrilled to receive the books the highlighted their brown skin! It really impacted them in positive way to read such affirming words. I know that will take those affirmations and use them as needed as the go about their daily lives. Thank you for supporting my students.
Thanks to your kindness, my class of 17 bright 6 and 7-year-old scholars has been able to thrive, despite the challenges we face in a Title I school. Your contribution has made a world of difference, and I am especially grateful for your support in providing diverse and inclusive books created by Dr. Thomishia Booker. These books celebrate diversity and empower our brown-skinned boys and girls to see themselves positively represented in literature. In today's world, where current events highlight the importance of affirming young minds, your gift is invaluable.
As Dr. Booker eloquently puts it, "Children deserve to see a positive image of themselves in as many media sources as possible." Your contribution helps to make this vision a reality for our scholars, enriching their imaginations and nurturing their dreams. By exposing them to stories that reflect their own experiences, we are fostering confidence and pride that will undoubtedly carry over into their learning and beyond.
Your generosity is more than just a donation; it's a beacon of hope and possibility for our students. Thank you for believing in the power of education and for investing in the future of these remarkable young scholars. Your support has truly made a difference in their lives.”

No More Complaining About School Work at Home
Funded Dec 10, 2020I am totally blown away by your generosity! I serve at a Title 1 school in an urban community and many times it is a challenge for our families to provide school supplies as needed. Though half way through the school year, the children were so excited to use their word building kits and use their wipe away board to write new words that we are learning together. Without you I may have never witnessed smiles as wide as these this virtual school year! So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making a BIG difference in the educating of our community.”

Funded Nov 3, 2020Thank you so much for your gracious donation of a second screen for our classroom. This has had a tremendous impact on our classroom. Now we are able to view content and see all the pretty faces of our on-line learning community simultaneously. It is pure joy to capture the faces of our little scholars when they grasp a new concept! It is something everyone should witness at some point in their lives. There are many proud little faces learning new letter sounds, enlarging their vocabulary, building fluency in reading, counting higher and higher each day and we get to see this because of your generosity! Thank you so much!”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you for this wonderful gift to get printed materials into the hands of my scholars. The printer was a game changer for my first graders as our school did not have enough Chromebooks to issue the lower graders, so my scholars were given iPads. The iPads had been with our school for numerous years and would not hold a charge, so scholars were not able to do their assignments digitally. Having printed material in their hands afforded my scholars the opportunity to continue learning throughout the school day. The printer is always accessible (since the schools are closed), and scholars enjoy picking up printed materials from me each week. It was great to connect with my scholars over these printed materials. Your donation is very useful!”
