My goal is to better provide all my students with the knowledge of proper body alignment in dance technique as they explore a variety of dance styles. Understanding safe and correct body positioning is a goal at every age. Seeing themselves and fellow classmates on a large monitor will help students achieve my goals as they expand their knowledge of dance and learn to "improvise" and explore their "choreographic" talents. "Teamwork skills" are emphasized at all age levels as they work together to explore their unique strengths and accept the ideas of classmates. Great discussions are certain to occur as they see themselves on the monitor, in motion, and decide what body positions and facial expressions will best "tell the story". Children are encouraged to work together at recess and at home to create a story or emotion that can be shared with classmates during dance class or performed at monthly assemblies . The requested materials will be beneficial as children study dance" virtually"; when they return to "in- person" learning and the monitor will continue to be a great "visual tool" for learning new skills and perfecting choreography.
