In my classroom I love to give students the ability to find a workspace that works best for them. Providing students with clipboards encourages them to move around the room and create a learning environment that works for them. By utilizing wobble stools, as a form of flexible seating, I am hopeful it will provide workable choices in my classroom. Alternative seating has shown to provide support for social-emotional needs in a classroom setting. Students seem to learn best when they feel that they have some control. Flexible seating provides movement and choice while increasing academic engagement. This year has been intertwined with pandemic-impacted learning. Students in my classroom are seeking more movement and more choices. I am trying to meet their creative needs, movement needs, and basic needs. .
