The headset with a microphone will allow the pupils to actually hear and join in mathematical discourse in the virtual classroom. When called upon to add their thoughts or perhaps to answer a question, we, the students and I, will be able to clearly hear their response. As of now, when I ask students to explain themselves and turn their mics on, it is very difficult or impossible to hear them. A few of my students go in the bathroom because it is so noisy. Some of the loud sounds are other siblings in remote learning, city traffic from open windows, televisions, radios, dogs barking, babies crying, doorbells and telephones ringing, and families having conversations. They are children and are unable to control their environment. Consequently, this accessory will, at a minimum, allow them to hear the lesson and talk AND finally, be heard.
