A big unit in 3rd grade is the art of information writing. My students this year love reading for information, and would truly benefit from a greater variety of non-fiction books about topics that they are interested in. Many of the books that we currently have in our classroom library are not of the level or interest of my students, thus the list that I have created with new books. Most of my students are reading chapter books, and I would love for them to be able to read for information using chapter books that are available in our classroom library. It was to my surprise that most of my students have chosen non-fiction books as their favorites this year. I would love to continue to instill that love for information reading, but allowing more of a variety of interesting topics to explore. Thank you in advance for helping my students continue to love reading.
