In my ESOL classes, there are students who have various special needs as well as multiple learning styles. Because of the learning challenges they face, we have to find ways to accommodate each child. Issues that relate to learning styles sometimes require that these students use touch screen computers as they would grasp concepts and retain knowledge longer and easier. In March, we were abruptly changed to a virtual and remote style of teaching and learning, which was a struggle in itself as my home computer was not up to par for the demands of online teaching and virtual meetings. I was able to make it through to June with my desktop computer at home teaching remotely, but now that we are virtual and face-to-face in classrooms, I need a mobile device that is fast and reliable. I am requesting one laptop that has a camera and microphone that can be used seamlessly for me to teach remotely and face-to-face when I visit classrooms. This laptop will also be shared among my students. Your support for this project would ensure that my ESOL students and I are learning and teaching remotely and face-to-face in a dynamic and engaging environment, using technology.
