This project will greatly impact the learning of all of my students. With Covid removing students from their normal routine, so many of my students fall behind in the year and a half while distance learning. While I teach 2nd grade, my students range from kindergarten level to 4th grade. Meeting all of their needs is very challenging, and that is why I am applying for these items.
Many of these games will be able to take my high students to the next level. The beginning reader books will help ensure my lower readers grasp the skills necessary for reading development. I want to foster creativity, so I've asked for building blocks and STEM books. The social-emotional manuals and an aroma diffuser are to teach students how to handle stress and manage their feelings.
The snacks will ensure that my low-income students do not go hungry during snack time as we eat lunch at 10:25 am and many families are still struggling. It is my goal as their teacher to instill a love for learning and a curiosity for the world in which they live.
