Zoom is the chosen platform for virtual learning within my district. We were given updated 13-inch laptops at the beginning of the year which was greatly appreciated. However, if you have used Zoom as a meeting tool you will understand how cluttered the desktop gets with participant videos, chatbox, waiting room access, and the banner to control the share screen. It is difficult to see my students and present lessons.
I want to acknowledge my students and encourage them to respond. A second monitor would be greatly appreciated. It would allow me to see my students on one screen while I present on another. Oftentimes I have to close the participant box so I have room on this little screen to present. I cannot see when a student is raising their hand or asking a question in chat or know who is talking when I need to do this. This creates waiting times, slows down the lesson, and can discourage students from participating.
