No Internet? No Problem! FLASH DRIVES!
Funded Feb 25, 2021I never thought that I would be a teacher having to figure things out in the middle of a global pandemic, but hey, it happened! The end of the 2019-2020 school year was crazy, and the 2020-2021 school year was even crazier, but we made it! As teachers, we all had to learn new forms of technology and figure out new ways of teaching our students remotely. My unique situation, which I know I was not alone in, was to figure out how to teach paperless and go fully digital with students I taught who didn't even have internet at home! This is where you all came into the picture!
Our school district provided all of our students with Chromebooks to work remotely from home and for hybrid learning, but did not provide them with hotspots until many months later. During this gap, I needed a way to send my hybrid students home with digital assignments to work on while they were not on campus. The flashdrives could finally provide a way for the students to download their assignments from a shared Google Drive folder while on campus, work on them from home, and then submit them once they returned back to campus.
I'm so thankful to have had donors like you who were willing to give their own finances to help out a teacher and so many students to continue learning from home, despite the obstacles that were present. You saw a need and you helped out, and to me, that means so much to me regarding the kindness, encouragement, and support of others. Your money helped me out financially, but during some stressful times, it also helped me out emotionally, as well! I pray that God blesses you for being a blessing to others!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Anderson
