Mr. Leitao's Advisory Book Club Part 2
Funded Dec 30, 2020Thank you again to all the donors that donated to my 7th-grade advisory. With your generous donation, we were able to build a rich variety of books for the students. We have been doing a weekly book club in our advisory since the beginning of the school year.
It has been a tough year due to the pandemic and our school going back and forth between blended and remote. It took a little while to get books into the kid's hands, but once we did, it was amazing.
The kids are really enjoying reading the books together as a group and having a chance to discuss as a class. We as a class chose an amazing array of diverse books and because of you and others, we have been able to enjoy them.
The students are learning about different cultures, sexualities, identities, and current events. They are reading books that they might have not picked up on their own, but enjoying them, learning at the same time, and increasing their reading fluency and comprehension.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Leitao
