STEM Connecting and Building Machines Thru LEGO Gadgets

Funded Sep 15, 2021

The class is motivated to build on their STEM skills. A bulletin board has been allocated for STEM projects to inspire to continually learn and have fun while learning.

This project has galvanized many more STEM ventures in making models such as robotic hand, lego wedo 2.0, etc. It has sparked curiosity amongst students in how the models will work. It has given them the trait of perseverance in finishing each model. The delight on their faces exhibits the gratifying learning experience this has all become. Not only has this project pertains to STEM, but it has branched out to other subjects as well such as writing in their journals, following an algorithm in computer science, etc. Learning has become multifaceted.

What we like most about the LEGO Gadgets is that the procedures are laid out so clear with accompanying visuals. Within such layout, the students would want to read the directions carefully and follow through because one small brick mistake would not make the machine work. It shows clearly the quantity of specific lego bricks needed. A set of LEGO Gadgets can actually build 11 machines. Students get to choose which model they want to build promoting self-advocacy.”
