  • Caring for Our Community

    Funded Apr 2, 2025

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! By involving middle school students in a service project that addresses mental health, we are not only empowering them to take an active role in their own well-being but also educating and fostering a culture of support within our community. Research shows that when we cooperate and show kindness to our fellow humans, we become healthier, happier and more successful. This project is going to allow us to to help these veterans to increase their sense of hope in the world. We truly appreciate your support in this project! Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Capeles

  • Kindergarten Is Easel-Y the Best!

    Funded Jan 14, 2022

Thank you for your donations. Your generosity is much appreciated by my students. This project was important because I asked if an easel. An easel is a tool that allows teachers to engage in a collaborative experience to take notes, annotate content, and more. Easels integrate various learning styles into one experience. Students can learn by seeing, hearing, and interacting with the board through touch. Because of this, students learn better and remember more. Thank you again for your continued support to my classroom.”

  • The Next Step in Guided Reading!

    Funded May 7, 2021

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in supporting our classroom. Because of your donations, my kindergarteners now have a wonderful kidney table and chairs that have completely transformed our learning space. The moment the table arrived, my students were beyond excited-they couldn't wait to sit around it and start working together. It has quickly become the heart of our classroom, where we gather for small group lessons, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning. Having a dedicated space for focused instruction has made such a difference in their engagement and understanding.

With our new table in place, we are already putting it to great use! It has become our go-to spot for literacy centers, math games, and teacher-led instruction, giving students a comfortable and inviting space to grow and learn. As we move forward, we are excited to use this space for an upcoming science exploration project where students will investigate plant growth through hands-on experiments. This wouldn't have been possible without your support, and we are so grateful for your generosity in making our classroom a better place for learning. Thank you for investing in our students' success!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Capeles

Guided reading is one component of the reading block during which the teacher provides support for a small flexible group of beginning readers. The goal of guided reading is for students to use these strategies independently on their way to becoming fluent, skilled readers. The materials that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! I will help the students learn letter recognition and letter sounds, fluency, sight words, and how to form a sentence. The guided reading table and chairs will allow me to see all the students to easily watch and help them as needed. Another benefit to this type of table is that I will able to position it to still monitor all the students without having to stop my guided reading group.
