Posca Paint Pens for Enhanced Creativity
Funded Aug 2, 2023My students have been so grateful to have Posca markers with which to explore and expand their creativity! Many students had never used them and were delighted with their aesthetic and possibilities.
The usage has been wide ranging and includes; sticker designs to have printed and sold, adding richer and bolder color to a final composition, enhancing work with pop of color, plus currently students are using Posca to add fine detail to artwork that is already layered, where most art materials would not adhere to the surface with the effect they are trying to achieve.
Some students loved them so much they requested a set for home from their family, and even a former student who graduated was inspired when seeing the Donors Choose request and bought his own set to explore.
I appreciate all of you who donated to bring my students art to a higher level.”

Funded Apr 27, 2021My advanced art students are so grateful for the opportunity to use Ohuhu markers in our classroom. Most students have not had much experience with these types of markers, and a few use them often. The students who have a lot of experience got to demonstrate and share their knowledge and skills with the novice students. Then many students took off and have loved exploring this medium. I have a few students who love these markers so much they want a set of their own and they use the ones in our classroom daily. Their work has grown over time, and I have been beyond impressed with the progress and creativity.
One very fulfilling and exciting project we have taken on is creating stickers from student designs, many of which were done with these markers. We used a local sticker making company (Dynamo Prints) and then students sold the stickers at a local market event. They were able to keep the profits and many are now inspired to continue this and are getting the experience being working artists making the profits they deserve.
We are beyond appreciative for you donations that have made this all possible.”

Art for All! My 2nd/3rd Year Art Students Need Supplies!
Funded Oct 23, 2020My Intermediate and Advanced art students were beyond grateful to receive the wonderful art kits and nice paper made possible from your generous donation. Many of them had very little if any supplies at home and got the chance to try materials they had never used. The kits were high quality and included a wide range of art materials from color pencils, pastels, and charcoal, to liquid watercolor, acrylic, and watercolor pencils. It is rare that they get a chance to take materials like this home to keep and use beyond our classroom experience.
A few of the projects we engaged in this year were an Expressive self-Portrait, Art Inspired by Artists, Giving Voice to a Contemporary Issue, along with weekly creative and skill building explorations.
I have a new group of student this current semester and many have already been surprised and ecstatic to receive this beautiful box of supplies. I can't explain in words how meaningful it is to provide this to our students during a time where there is so much confusion, worry, and lack of stability. Many have expressed that engaging in art has been a tremendous outlet for them during a stressful time.”
With gratitude,
Ms. May
