The biggest issue is trying to keep students safe right now. With proper cleaning supplies, I can not only keep my environment cleaner, but I can also use less paper products and have less trash. I use an environmentally friendly detergent at home, therefore, by providing towels to clean my desks rather than paper towels, I am doing more for the environment. Student safety and providing the ability to learn from all locations are my priorities. Due to the hard times right now, many of my students are struggling to afford school supplies. If I can provide just a little bit for them, I will. Whether that is a pencil, a notebook, or a stylus pen for their laptops, I will help in any way I can even if that means spending my own money. Lastly, the supplies for first aid are running low in my classroom. I am running on the last bit of Band-Aids that I have left as well as I have run out of disposable gloves to protect myself. We have a school nurse, but, with everything else going on, I would rather take care of minor issues in my classroom than overwhelm her. I always want to help my students and coworkers in any way possible. The more we work together, the better this trying time becomes.
