STEM Learning for Future Black Scientists
Funded Feb 27, 2023My students are so grateful for their new resources. We are able to have multiple science centers and create experiments from the resources that you were donating to. When they saw their new resources, they were very excited and eager to open them up upon arrival.
Each day students are creating and building with the science centers as they have shared that they are interested in engineering and architecture. I also have some students that are interested in coding. These resources are perfect for building up on their interest that they did not have access to before.”

Ms. Hurst
Team Building
Funded Feb 8, 2023My students and I are loving the team building games that we received for this project. Due to their learning differences, students are in needs of resources like this so that they can learn how to critically think, strategize, problem solve, work together for a common goal, and advocate for themselves. During our team building time, we were able to see how students communicated with each other and it strengthened their bonds in the classroom.
The students were very excited when they received the materials. They all worked together to open them up and wanted to start playing right away.
The next step is to develop a sensory room and have team building on our schedule so that students are getting support for their different learning that contribute to relationship building within the classroom and support their academic needs.”

Funded Oct 7, 2022Without you, my students would not have the learning materials in our classroom that they desperately needed to have access to meaningful science and stem learning. We are using the new resources to learn about our organs, skeletal system, parts of the heart, and geometric shapes. They really loved working with each kit and going through the challenges of building them and learning about our bodies.
When they first saw the materials, they were over joyed. The students dug right in and took everything out. They spent a lot of time working with the materials and were reluctant to put them away.
The next steps for my students are to use the plant kit that they received. They are eagerly waiting to watch the plants grow and develop.”

Funded Aug 9, 2022My students are experiencing learning a new level. They are able to learn how to count, learn their letters and grow their fine motor skills. I have unique engaging materials that can support students with their IEP goals. The number find activity has been instrumental in helping students count and identify numbers. My students also love using the ice cream scoop counting trays. They love having the sensory experience from this activity.
When they first saw the materials, they became very excited. My students will begin to open up the packages before I begin.
The next steps for this project is to continue building up their skills to get them pre-school and kindergarden ready. I will need to start teaching them letters and the sounds that they make.”
