Stories Tell It All
Funded Sep 29, 2022Having this project funded- "Stories Tell It All" has really inspired my students with helping them write their personal narratives. They used the pictures to draw out many different ideas about what to write about.
The next step was to take their thoughts and ideas out onto drafting paper so that we can work in partnerships to draft and edit their writing.
One of our classroom goals is to be writers who love to write about books we love to read about. I am a big reader and always found that once I read stories to my students, they grow to love them, and it helps carry into their writing.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you, thank you so very much!! I have to say these books came to my classroom so quickly and once my students saw the boxes, we had to open them together.
The excitement in their eyes as they opened each one and talked about the pictures in their reading groups was amazing.
Each student was super excited to take a book home and I had already printed out cards so all they had to do was write their name and we made it into a fun library experience.
This has been such a beautiful experience for my students and I and we are so happy that you fulfilled our wish!”

Funded Aug 21, 2022Thank you so much for helping to fund this proposal! My students were so happy to have Mr. Sketch markers and other supplies to help them gather their learning supplies this school year.
Having all these classroom supplies will help to make the classroom a place where students can move around and make their learning tasks more independent. Students find it difficult to have teachers constantly telling them where to go and what to get. My educational philosophy is to make my students more independent and get impressed by their own motivation choosing exactly what they want to use.”

Funded Aug 19, 2022Thank you so much for helping to fund this proposal! The day I opened up the Time for Kids magazines for my students and projected them onto the screen the enjoyment and happiness filled up within their eyes.
The conversation we were able to have been perfect. My students loved talking about the various environments and stating what they want to see one day. After we talked through the photographs, I read aloud the various articles and gave them various questions to answer about the different topics.
When my students were able to take these beginning articles home, I received so many compliments and positive thoughts from parents who are so excited to read this with their child at home.
Time for Kids has an excellent online website that translates letters and articles into different languages to help with parent- teacher communication.”

Funded Aug 23, 2022Thank you so much for helping to fund this proposal for my classroom. My students have loved having their own personal copy of the magazine. They are able to work in groups to cite text evidence for various questions on different topics. They are able to highlight and state claims based on what they are reading.
Informational text structures and reading is extremely important to upper grade readers. It helps them to acquire information on new topics and discussions going on. Having this support helps them prepare for NYS testing that my students will need to complete starting this school year,
Having Time for Kids always provides me with different graphic organizers to use to retrieve and show information learned. I am also able to download these articles in different languages which helps to make the text easier for parents to understand while helping their child with their homework
I want to say that this has made my school year such a successful one so far and it is only the beginning of the year. Having this throughout the whole school year will definitely make a huge impact in my students' learning and they will continue to love it all the time.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rollo

News! News! Read All About It!
Funded Oct 21, 2021My class and I would like to Thank You so much for funding this proposal. Having this classroom magazine subscription has helped them grow their knowledge about different animals and also current events that are happening throughout the past couple of months.
In ELA both reading and writing, my students are becoming animal researchers to answer questions such as: What is your amazing animal's habitat? What type of diet does your animal tend to follow? How does your animal care for their young? What amazing facts have you learned about your animal through your research? Having this subscription has given the class many different animal species that we don't see and this makes it extremely interesting to them.
I would like to thank you once again for helping to build up my students' knowledge base and help them further their understanding through text and pictures. This is a wonderful resource to have and makes everyone engaged in learning.”

Funded Aug 16, 2021Thank You so much for helping to get this project funded. My students will be fully coming into school while having two years of remote/ in person learning. During this time period, teachers at my school could give out the supplies needed because asking parents to purchase school supplies was hard.
I am so happy to welcome my 4th graders will the tools they need to guide their learning and help them adjust back to in person learning each and everyday. They will be super excited to see and use the supplies that you were able to provide them with for in person learning.
Having this project funded has really brought a huge smile on my face and I know that my students will be so eager to learn all they will this school year. I will just say it again THANK YOU so much from the bottom of my heart!”
