Hands on Word Practice
Funded Jan 22, 2025My students love the new supplies you donated to us! We have used the "menu's" for cvc and digraphs already! They love grabbing them and working independently on them. Every morning we use the paddle boards to create words. We tap it, map it, graph it, write it on the front. The back we use for super words and making sentences. They love the size of them!
Students love to use the pop it games during small group! They work in small groups and indpendently, depending on their choice. The menus are a part of our rotating centers as well. I can easily change out activities for each student and they all have a menu. Nobody knows the difference!”

Secret Stories in the Classroom
Funded Aug 14, 2024Thank you so much for the Secret Stories for my classroom. My stduents have loved learning about them. So far in the year, we have learned Th, Sh, Ch, ay, or, and ow. Because of the stories my class has learned the sight word the before we have even introduced sight words. We also spell day in our daily message! They love when they spot th and ch in words! We were also able to correctly label "fish" correctly! They love learning new secrets and I can not wait until we learn more and more as the year goes on!”

Funded Jun 22, 2024Thank you so much for the generosity of your donation! My students loved reading the books at the beginning of the year. They were the perfect books to transition us into a new school year. The favorite this year is, Don't eat your classmates!
The shelves sit on my front white board and rotate the books we are reading for the week. The students now know what books are coming up in the week becuase of them being displayed!
Our Mouth is a Volcano has also been a great addition to my classroom. We read this book often and also have an anchor chart to remind us not to have volcano mouths. This has helped with my classroom management.”

Mrs. Nelson's Resource Room
Funded Dec 8, 2022Thank you for all the donations to the students in my room. We have enjoyed many resources so far. My favorite is the Executive Functioning program I bought. Almost my entire caseload needs work on their executive functioning skills. This has been my greatest area of struggle this year. A fun thing was cookie labels! This seems silly, but I gave my students a little "you are a smart cookie " labeled baggie along with some cookies! This was given right before a test and they loved it! Yahtzee has been another great addition to our room. We have played Yahtzee to work on math skills and social skills.
Your donations are greatly appreciated.”

Mrs. Nelson's Teacher Pay Teacher Fund
Funded Oct 23, 2020Even though we have not gone virtual yet, I have been able to utilize my Teacher Pay Teacher Funds to provide individualized work for each student. The most beneficial thing I have used was a Fundations Letter Mat. Each student in my room now has one. My students uses these mats at least 2 times a day, if not more.
I was able to purchase different boards for each of my grade levels. I work with students from Kinder Boost to 2nd grade. Having the ability to make boards for each grade level adds specific learning strategies for each student. The students were very excited when they learned they each had their own letter boards!
I did have two students go virtual for 3 weeks, due to quarantine. I was able to send these letter boards home with them. Their parents appreciated me sending home hands on materials that the students were familiar with.
I have also been able to print off specific phonic strategies for students who struggle in certain areas. My next plan is to find some specific leveled readers for each student in my classroom.”
