We Are Nature Spies!

Our Distance Learning kinderkids have had such a great time using the science tools that you purchased for our class. We packed the tweezers and hand lenses into a little science kit which we handed out at one of our school material pick up events.
The excitement was evident when our students opened their kits and found the realistic science tools! It has been a hoot watching our young learners explore scientific explorations at home.
We have had the opportunity to use the tweezers and hand lenses in several different investigations including our ice melting test, observing our classroom pet and getting out to observe nature in our own backyards.
We will continue to investigate and explore scientific phenomena with the help of your generous donation!”

This classroom project was brought to life by San Diego Gas & Electric and one other donor.

Our Kinderkids will be engaged in the work of actual scientists with the purchase of the items in this project. We have a science notebook to record our wonderings and data, so with a magnifier in hand, we will be ready to look, closely, at the wonders in nature right outside our homes. Access to these scientific tools will help our students engage in not only questions but enable them to design investigations and experiments like real scientists! Imagine the fun and excitement our students will have as they explore ants, seeds, birds, or trees. To be able to sit and observe, really observe the elements of nature, is a gift. Not only does it give children a connection to the natural world, but it can also be a way to build mindfulness and calm into their lives. Your donation will allow our students the opportunity to learn how to stop, sit a bit, and think about what we experience right here and right now.
