Exciting Updates from Our English Language Learner Classroom!

1. Our New Resources in Action

We've been having a blast with our new English language learning materials! Just last week, we did a fun "Mystery Box" activity. Here's what happened:

* I put different objects in a box

* Students took turns reaching in without looking

* They had to describe what they felt in English

* Their classmates tried to guess the object

It was great to see students using new vocabulary words like "smooth," "round," and

"squishy." They were laughing and excited to participate!

When I first showed the students our new resources, their eyes lit up!

* "Wow, these books look so cool!" said Maria

* "Can we use the headphones today?" asked Juan

* "I like the colorful pictures," Aisha commented

The students were eager to dive in and start using everything right away. It was like an early Christmas in our classroom!

We're currently working on a "My Community" project. Here's what's coming up:

1. Students will create simple maps of their neighborhoods

2. They'll label places in English (park, store, school, etc.)

3. We'll practice giving directions using phrases like "turn left" and "go straight"

4. Finally, students will present their maps to the class

This project helps them learn practical English while sharing their lives outside school. We're so grateful for the materials that make activities like this possible!

Again, thank our wonderful donors for bringing these opportunities to our classroom!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Wilkins
