Last year, our school year consisted of distance learning, a 1/2 day hybrid model with two cohorts, and eight weeks of full-day in-person instruction. Through each learning model, we needed new rules, students/families/teachers had more demands, and we grew in our understanding of technology. I was constantly reminded about the importance of providing safe and healthy environments that students feel comfortable learning in each day. I am making some permanent changes in our student-centered classroom to continue providing students safe, sanitary, and durable learning spaces. Please help me provide students with some new basics for our 2nd grade classroom. Our class needs additional clocks, fine point dry erase markers, and sheet protectors to enhance reading and math lessons. It is important for each child to have his/her individual items. Students sit in work groups throughout the week/month and need organizational tools to begin going back to school full day. Students have experienced learning loss and my hope is to provide students with a safe learning space. Students will not need to worry about sanitizing each tool as students will have their own tools for each learning block. Donors help us give our students basic organizational bins to create safe learning spaces.
