  • Overlooked Essentials

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your kind donations. The classroom materials I have received have made my classroom flow better with very few interruptions during crucial instruction time, allowing my students to focus.

Many students have been able to meet their IEP goals and understand their test questions with greater accuracy. My class goes through pencils very fast, so having an abundance of pencils at the students' disposal has made my lessons flow better without a student asking for a pencil every few minutes. Thank you very much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Katz

  • A+ Students and the Future of Hybrid Learning

    Funded Dec 24, 2020

I want to extend a huge thank you for all the wonderful materials you've provided to my students. These materials have really provided my students the means to further their success during this challenging year.

The headphones provided my students an easier way to communicate with me both virtually and in person. For students who are virtual, the headphones help eliminate the background noise, allowing students to hear my instruction more effectively and with greater ease. For my students that are attending school in person, the headphones allow me to conduct small group instruction via Zoom without disrupting the other students who are not in that group, thus allowing for proper social distancing to remain present in my classroom.

The individual dry erase boards have made learning math a lot more fun. Students are excited to hold up their answer on their boards after questions are presented during instruction.

The other items have allowed students to use their own materials such as the notebooks, pencils, glue, and pouch organizers to ensure that they are prepared for class and can still record notes.

Once again, thank you for really helping my students continue their success with these materials in my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Katz

  • Enhancing the World of Virtual Learning

    Funded Oct 27, 2020

The technology you have helped me acquire has been nothing short of tremendous in my virtual classroom setting. I have primarily used the iPad and Apple Pencil to teach fourth grade math. Many of the new mathematical concepts taught this year are extremely challenging for many students. With my iPad and Apple Pencil I have been able to teach my students long division, area model multiplication, the meaning of place value, ordering and comparing numbers, least common multiple, greatest common factor, ordering fractions, and more. These examples are still just a few of what I will be continuing to teach them throughout the rest of the year which will include geometry and mastering adding and subtracting large numbers with decimals. I have also used these tools to teach grammar and essay composition with great ease.

With the iPad and Apple Pencil, I am able to share my screen via zoom and students can clearly see what I am teaching them just as they would if they were in the classroom and I was standing at the front of the room with a SmartBoard or chalkboard. My students have seen here tremendous improvement in my teaching by having these tools. They all love it and it has completely changed my classroom for the better!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Katz

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to look at my project! This project will provide items for my fourth grade classroom, consisting of 20 students. As with many current classrooms, online learning presents a unique set of challenges. Many of my students have parents and siblings working from home, which can create distracting sounds in the background. The headphones with a microphone will help eliminate background noise and improve communication while on Zoom. When we transition to a future hybrid model, sharing supplies will not be an option. The school supplies will be given to each individual student so they can properly record notes, use whiteboards with their own markers and erasers, cut construction paper for fun projects, sharpen their pencils at their desks, and have a pouch to carry their belongings in. These items will help them for the rest of the school year once we are back in the classroom!
