Going Beyond Expectations
Funded Feb 9, 2022Thank you very much or your generous donations. The students have been excited to see that this project was going to get funded as we are low in computers. Their excitement was palpable when they found out they were getting two more computers in the classroom. Thank you again for getting on board with our excursion to excellence.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Black History Month Partners and 4 other donors.Device Protection
Funded Aug 31, 2021I would like to thank you for your immense generosity. We have been able to utilize all the technology tools received to seamlessly extend our learning. The ability to charge both tablets. This has proven to be invaluable as the school still does not have enough devices for the students to use. The ability to have charged and usable devices in class is imperative.
Students are often asking to use the pen when using the tablets. They feel that it is easier and more efficient when they are doing their work. A result I did not expect is that these tools encouraged them to do more. They are not rushing through their work as much because they feel these tools are fun and make completing their work easier. While I did not anticipate the fun factor, it definitely is a major plus.
On behalf of my students and myself, thank you again for all of your contributions to maximizing my students' learning.”

Ms. James
Learning Supplies for Title I Students
Funded Aug 2, 2021The students have been benefitting from the resources received. There are many students who came to school without writing implements, highlighters, paper and notebooks. Having a stock of them in the room has eased their pressure. They no longer worry about keeping up, completing work and even being bullied for not having. The map of the United States of America as well as the posters depicting the presidents have captured their attention. When then entered the room and first saw these materials they were drawn to them. They went over and examined every aspect of them. I refer to the map daily as we learn about exploration and the beginnings of the United States of America.
Since this project I have added a world map so the students can get an understanding of how the United States is situated with respect to the rest of the world. We routinely use technology in class so the students can increase their understanding of how the rest of the world influences the United states. I have created another project to increase our supply of computers. Being a Title I school, the students do not necessarily have access to technology. This limits their ability to become technologically literate and it limits their ability to see other parts of the world, and even their own communities. Having the access to more technology will open the door for the students to broaden their horizons.
Thank you again for your incredible generosity to the classroom!”

Tools for Distance Learning
Funded Dec 30, 2020I would like to start again by thank you for the very generous donation. Since receiving the tables it has enabled the students to stay connected. Each child through the district was able to receive a computer; however, when something happens to the computers the students are without a computer for extended amounts of time. When they are without computers, virtual learning becomes very challenging and they are not able to keep on pace with the lessons. The students who have been able to use the tables have been able to log in constantly while completing all required lessons to continue their academic learning. When a student received their school computers back, other students were given the tablets to use while theirs were being repaired.
There were several parts of this experience the students felt excited about. The Surface Pro tablet is the same tablet one of their other teachers use, so they felt they were not only getting a top notch tool, but they were like their teacher. They loved that I went to their home to deliver it to them, they felt so special. "I never had a tablet this new before" was something I was told often. They were also excited about getting something new to help them with their school work, the tablet also did not glitch for them making their learning experience more enjoyable. One of the parents told me how much pride her son had in receiving the tablet. He felt honored that someone cared so much about their education that he didn't want to let the donors down. He took incredible care of the tablet and made sure to do all academic work that was asked of him, he even avoided playing games.
The students felt the ease of using the tablets to be most important. The Surface Pro is very similar to the student computers distributed by the county and to the computers in school. This allowed for an easy and smooth transition. They appreciated how mobile it was. It was easy to carry and store. The students did their very best to ensure their siblings did not misuse the tablet as they felt that it was a special gift loaned to them by very special people. We have been able to have a few students use the tablets while their school computers get repaired, one student waited 2 months for the repair, thus making the need for the tablets greater as they would have been without a device for that time.”
