Students will use the modeling clay to create before, during, and after models of earth's landforms. These modeled landforms will have been shaped by weathering, erosion, or deposition over millions of years. In order for each student to create their model, a lot of clay is required. Having students model these processes helps them visualize how they have been formed with a hands-on component. An example of what was done in the past includes: - Before: an untouched landscape - During: a glacier moving through the valley, picking up rocks and sediment - After: piles of sediment where the glacier was left and a u-shaped valley remaining
