Our elementary school is home to a very diverse student population. Many of our students are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month which is September 15-October 15 annually. I was asked to provide a certain book to one of our classroom teachers and to my dismay I did not have the title in our collection. My first thought was to build a rich Hispanic Heritage collection that our students and teachers could use during this month of celebration and all year to cultivate an appreciation of the Hispanic culture in all our students. These books could be taken home by our distance learners.
