I will use the storybooks in session with the kids to normalize what they are feeling and give them tools with how to manage their anger with pictures and a story. The workbooks will give detailed ideas and projects that I can use to work with kids on describing what anger, anxiety or depression looks like and give them tools to better manage their emotions. The worry stones I use with the kids that struggle with anxiety. We choose a word on the stone that helps them feel calm and we talk about what that words mean for them. Then I remind them to carry that stone in their pocket and rub it when they are feeling anxious about something and think about that special word. I will use the pencils, drawing books and erasers as rewards to motivate them to use the coping skills they are learning in our sessions.
