  • Individualized Instruction is Key to Success

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

I still cannot believe how lucky I am to have people support my students and me without knowing us. Your generosity has helped me find new exciting ways to motivate my students with new materials and paper for hands-on projects. My students will stay motivated and on task because they know they have tasks on their level to demonstrate their understanding of specific topics. My special education students will sit for the state exam and the Algebra 1 regents. Many students struggle and motivation is difficult. Keeping students on task and not giving up is essential. Having supplementary material on the spot with ink and paper is essential. I know my students will be successful because of you and your help.

The use of ink and paper in my classroom has enhanced my lessons because I am able to reach the needs of all my special education students. Your donation has helped me motivate my students by creating hands-on tasks where they can be individualized so every student can be successful. Thank you once again, you have made such a positive impact on my life. I hope to one day pay it forward and help other teachers that are in need of classroom essentials.”

  • Time to Spruce Up My Classroom

    Funded Oct 21, 2023

I still cannot believe how lucky I am to have people support my students and me without knowing us. Your generosity has helped me find new exciting ways to motivate my students with new wall paper, magnetic frames and copy paper for hands-on projects. My students will stay motivated and on task because they know they have a new designed area to demonstrate their understanding of math topics. Keeping students on task and not giving up is essential. I know my students will be successful because of you and your help.

The use of creating new bulletin board displays has enhanced my lessons to reach the needs of all my special education students. My students love seeing their work displayed and framed like artwork. It motivates them to try their best. With the supplies I have been able to decorate my classroom with student work to reinforce the curriculum. Varying classwork is essential in keeping students motivated. The behavior in my classroom has improved because students are excited and on task creating assignments rather than just answering questions. I am able to diversify my lessons and have all students motivated and participating because of you!”

  • Hungry Students Can't Concentrate

    Funded Oct 17, 2023

I still cannot believe how lucky I am to have people support my students and me without knowing us. My students stay motivated and on task because they aren't hungry. My special education students will be sitting for the State Exam and the Algebra 1 regents. Many students struggle and motivation is difficult. I know them being hungry is one less thing I have to worry about.

Some students struggle to get to school on time. Other students don't have adequate supplies at home. When my students are hungry they find it difficult to focus on the lesson. They don't tend to participate in discussions or complete classwork. Now I can hand out a snack which enables them to get their focus back on the lesson.

Thank you once again, you have made such a positive impact on my life. I hope to one day pay it forward and help other teachers that are in need of classroom essentials.”

  • An Apple iPad Amplifies Student Success and Envolvement

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

I still cannot believe how lucky I am to have people support my students and me without knowing us. My students will stay motivated and on task because I can present information in a multitude of ways and I am not forced to stand in front of the board.

I now have the ability to share my screen and write on parts of the lesson to facilitate learning styles. I will be able to model problems, take pictures of the problems, and then post them on google classroom. Most importantly, I can show math processes, not just the answers. The versatility of an iPad is amazing in the classroom.

Another benefit of an iPad will be the ability to use my cricut with it. I was blessed with a cricut and have no way to download the software. I am dependent on my fellow teachers who let me use their iPad to make prizes and gifts for my students.

Thank you once again, you have made such a positive impact on my life. I hope to one day pay it forward and help other teachers that are in need of classroom essentials. The world of teaching has changed greatly since I first started and the generosity of kind individuals helps me continue educating students. It takes just a little pressure off the work I have to do and keeps me positive.”

  • The Benefits of a Cricut Are Endless

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

I still cannot believe how lucky I am to have people support my students and me without knowing us. Your generosity has helped me find new exciting ways to motivate my students with positive behavior intervention strategies. The new cricut will enhance my classroom in many different ways. My students will stay motivated and on task because they know their positive behaviors can earn them prizes.

This is the first year my special education students will be sitting for the Algebra 1 regents. Many students struggle and motivation is difficult. Keeping students on task and not giving up is essential. I know my students will be successful because of you and your help.

The use of a cricut in my classroom has enhanced my lessons to reach the needs of all my special education students. Your donation has helped me motivate my students by personalizing items for them. With the cricut I have been able to decorate my classroom and items for my students. Varying prizes and rewards is essential in keeping students motivated. The behavior in my classroom has improved immensely because students are excited to earn prizes. So far I have made each student a water bottle and notebook with their names. All my students got excited, and to watch them use the prizes I made for them warms my heart. I intend to continue to purchase prizes and reward my students for trying their best. Special education students can meet the same standards and goals as their regular education counterparts with extra supports. Now I am able to diversify my lessons and have all students motivated and participating because of you!

Thank you once again, you have made such a positive impact on my life. I hope to one day pay it forward and help other teachers that are in need of classroom essentials. • Can an Old Dog Teach a New Math Curriculum?

    Funded Jun 21, 2022

I still cannot believe how lucky I am to have people support my students and me without knowing us. Your generosity has helped me find new resources to supplement my lessons in order to reach the needs of all my special education students.

Your donation has helped me find remedial activities to help students who had a gap in their education for approximately two years. Special education students can meet the same standards and goals as their regular education counterparts with extra supports. Now I am able to diversify my lessons with fun activities because of you! I was and am able to purchase both online and paper activities to keep students on task and motivated.

To intensify this need to diversify, this is my first time teaching Algebra 1. I am preparing my students to take the regents for the first time in June. I know my students will be successful because of you and your help.

My students especially enjoy pixel art activities where they must solve a problem and if their answer is correct, a piece of a picture is filled in. When all answers are correct, they see the entire picture. They also enjoy puzzles and mazes based on various algebra 1 topics. Thank you once again, you have made such a positive impact on my life.”

During this time of remote learning, students are relying on routines and teachers to bring back a little normalcy to their lives. To keep students motivated it is important to vary lessons and be able to tailor them to my students specific needs. Teaching special education in the Bronx, my 8th grade students are struggling and not attending school. By getting an Apple iPad, math will become easier for me to teach and my students to learn. I can do some amazing things for my students with an Apple iPad. I can create interactive lessons that can be shared, share videos, and share interactive websites that will keep my students motivated. I would have the ability to share my screen and write on parts of the lesson to facilitate learning styles. I will be able to model problems, take pictures of the problems, and then post them on google classroom. Most importantly, I can show math processes, not just the answers. This year has been incredibly hard on teachers and students. Teachers are depending on kind donors like yourselves to support us. NYC cut funding that used to be given to teachers for their students. This year more than ever is when we need it the most. Thank you in advance.
