  • HD Gaming for Esports/Gaming Club

    Funded May 3, 2022

    We have been using the aquired 4k Television to render out high quality ray-tracing and Textures for 3D assets. We were also able to use this piece of equipment to do High Res gaming with our Esports and Gaming clubs. This has been used on an event capacity so a fairly diverse set of students have used it. The most exciting part is seeing their projects looking so good in the 4k, it is a real motivator to keep doing what they are doing. We intend to use it more this year for our motion capture studio to see animated sequences.”

  • Occulus Vr

    Funded Jan 26, 2022

    We have started development of Video Games and Virtual Galleries inside of VR platforms. We are working on the main part of the games, but now that we have our VR set to beta test, we can start to find and fix bugs in the games as well as start to integrate the VR plug-ins for Unreal Engine 4 & 5. A lot of the kids that weren't sure about this career path are now changing their minds a little bit after seeing the possibilities within the Game Development fields. They are not limited to just video games, they can create Architecture Blueprints, Automotive Designs, and TV/Film. Without the generosity of the doners, we would not be able to hold the title of Full Stack Development Magnet for Software and Video games.”

The students will be able to test their own characters and game mechanics from Unity and Unreal Engine. There are VR/AR plugins that allow us to take the characters made in Zbrush and Blender, and make them come alive through VR via the Occulus Quest 2. We hope to attract students to the magnet as well as demonstrate the importance of this career field. These kids have so many opportunities here that they don't have anywhere else. They literally have the opportunity to make a world that they created come to life!

About my class
