Today I took my biology class outside to study the forest surrounding their school. As students studied the ecology of their local forest, they became frustrated trying to identify trees without the help of field guides. Due to the circumstances of COVID-19, the students could not share the few field guides that I owned, as books are not easily sanitized on-the-go outside. My students want to better understand the world around them, and your gift of field guides will help them explore the natural environment. By donating to this project, you will help each student in my class have access to a field guide as they study ecology, plants, and animals. Furthermore, after this year these field guides will be used for years to come in my other classes of freshman biology.
