Science of Reading Aligned Spelling Bundle
Funded Apr 8, 2022This science of reading spelling bundle is rooted in the latest research on how children learn to read and write. This bundle enhances spelling proficiency by aligning the principles of the science of reading which emphasizes a systematic, evidence-based approach to literacy instruction. Furthermore integrating encoding with decoding enhances student decoding ability. The resources in this bundle are very engaging. The differentiated activities accommodate diverse learners ensuring that all students can progress at their own rate and achieve mastery.
This bundle is a great tool for delivering high-quality spelling instruction.”

Funded Sep 12, 2021I have been able to share new literature with my students this year thanks to your generous donations. We absolutely love reading books and talking about them. We have also been able to admire and learn about different styles of illustrations. We use a lot of our favorite books as mentor texts to help us with our writing. We wrote about getting haircuts or special hairstyles after we read Crowne. Thank you so much for helping build our classroom library with such engaging books. My students and I thank you!”

We Are Busy Bees
Funded Aug 13, 2021My first grade students were in PRE-K when the pandemic began and schools first shut down. Most of their kindergarten year was spent virtually. This is their first year back in school in person.
Our classroom theme is "We are busy bees." With your generous donations, I was able to decorate our room and provide rewards and incentives for my students. We also have a class "mascot" named Aphid. The students love reading to her!
We sure are busy bees this year! Thank you for supporting us!”

Funded Sep 3, 2021Through your generous donations, I was able to purchase decodable books that are aligned to Science of Reading. In addition, these decodables books came with interactive self-checking tiles. After reading, students are able to complete phonics practice activities with the activity book and tiles. My students love their table reading boxes and they love reading independently!
These books and tiles have helped increase my student's fluency as well as their decoding skills. I am so thankful they have real books to read and do not always have to read from a computer.
My students truly love reading thanks to your donations!”

Nothing Can Stop Us While We Learn From Home
Funded Aug 4, 2021With this generous donation for my class, I have been able to provide engaging lessons that my students can benefit from both at school and at home if they have been quarantined. It has also been helpful to parents that want to know what we are doing in class. I was also able to provide some basic school supplies to my students so that all students have all of the needed materials to be successful. Donors like you are always a blessing to teachers and their students and you make a huge difference in the lives of many children.”

Enjoying Our Recess Time Outside
Funded Apr 12, 2021Thank you so much for this generous donation of recess materials for my students. My students were so excited to return to school in March of last year after a year of virtual learning. These recess bags filled with fun items for outdoor recess really put a smile on their faces. We were able to safely play together in our school courtyard, while also maintaining social distancing. You truly made a difference to my students and helped them enjoy their outside time at school during a pandemic.”

We Virtually Love Learning
Funded Dec 20, 2020Thank you so much for this generous donation. Not only have the purchases saved me a lot of planning time on the weekends, but I have also been able to purchase engaging materials and activities that my students love. Some of their favorites are the interactive white board activities for math. They are able to practice and review skills we have learned in a fun and animated way, using their whiteboards. They also love BOOM Cards, which are digital task cards that are fun and game-like. Finally, I was able to purchase materials to create paper and pencil workbooks for my students. While technology is great, my first graders still need fine motor skill practice with a pencil and crayons.
Thank you for making a difference to my students this school year.”

Empathy, Unity, and Cross-Cultural Friendships
Funded Dec 22, 2020My students absolutely love the books that we have been able to add to our library. One of their top favorites is Hair Love. This is such a touching story about a father that doesn't stop until he gets his daughter's hair just right. It brings tears to my eyes every time I read it and my students ask me to read it at least once a day. Connecting to literature is so very important in creating life long readers. Thank you for helping me provide meaningful literature to my students. These books have helped make a difference in their education this year, especially during the pandemic.”

Just Breathe!
Funded Dec 20, 2020Thank you so very much for this beyond generous donations. I teach in an older school building and having two extremely efficient air purifiers is a blessing and gives me a lot of peace of mind. I have one purifier set up in the front of my classroom and one purifier set up at the back of my classroom. The purifiers are not only efficient, but they are also quiet. I am able to teach concurrently to my virtual students and my in person students without any extra noise in the background.
Thank you for helping keep the air purified for my students during this pandemic.”

Handwashing Is Our Superpower!
Funded Dec 20, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation of soap and hand sanitizer. Given the circumstances during the pandemic, I am so glad I am able to provide each of my students with their own bottle of hand sanitizer. Each student has a bottle placed at their desk and every student is able to easily sanitize their hands. I am also able to provide plenty of soap at my classroom sink for handwashing throughout the day. This especially saves time at lunch time as we share a hallway bathroom with all first and second graders.
It has been so helpful to easily and quickly keep hands clean without losing valuable instruction time.”
