I’ve noticed in my class my students are sticking to books they are comfortable with: Dogman, Dork Diaries, Nate the Great and Diary of a Whimpy Kid. These books are great easy reads and students love them. However, I want to expose my students to other literature they can relate to. I’ve chosen books that celebrate diversity, inclusion, and family relationships. I’ve also chosen books that could open a window to another world; fantasy books students can escape to. I love literature and I want to be able to provide the library they deserve. I’m starting from scratch and I need some help! Thank you so very much!
