  • Books the Presidential Candidates Need (and Also My First Graders)

    Funded Nov 7, 2020

Your donations to my classroom project were so helpful in getting these books into my classroom. My students LOVED having these books and talking about the SEL topics of these books. My school is moving into more SEL based lessons, and I have recommended these books to our committee in charge.

I apologize for the delay in you receiving this thank you. I lost the email password to this account. Please know, your donation was greatly appreciated! I even used these books when I taught summer school lessons. These skills are essential for my first graders, and these books were a great way to teach them these different skills.

    Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Plummer

  • Give a Teacher Two Apples!

    Funded Oct 3, 2020

Thank you so much for your donations to my project, Give a Teacher Two Apples. The addition of the iPads has been wonderful in the classroom and we have used them several times since we received them.

My students have loved having the new iPads to read books on Epic and do research on. It has also allowed them to connect to other students and teachers on Zoom. Our ESOL teachers have been able to support their students better with letters and letter sounds through the Zoom feature.

Please look for any future projects to support my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Plummer

I am adding iPads into my classroom to assist with my students learning in the classroom. My school normally has 4 Chromebooks per classroom, however, due to COVID-19, those laptops have been checked out to those families that are staying home. My students in the classroom do not have that resource to use in class to research questions. Having questions about the world we live in is something I push in my classroom, and these iPads will assist students in answering those questions. The iPads will be staying in my classroom to help with in-class research. I will be using them for genius hour, where students are able to explore and write about a topic that interests them. They will also be used to help students get the digital instruction from support teachers using features, such as Zoom, to communicate with them.
