My school is a Title I school, serving a very diverse population. My students in particular have struggled to learn reading and/or math concepts. As an interventionist, I see students in small groups, pulled out from their regular classroom. Since I do not have my own class of students, I do not receive supplies from the family supply lists. Usually, I purchase supplies myself and students share these supplies. However, with the current pandemic, students are unable to share supplies. My teaching partner and I serve 60 struggling students in grades 1-5, all of whom will need their own individual supply pouch. By purchasing the necessary items for these pouches, I will be able to include of all supplies needed so that each student will have everything he/she needs in a timely manner so that I will be able to use my limited small group time most effectively. In addition to the supplies needed for the pouches, I have requested 10 yoga mats that can be taken outside for students to sit on while doing their lessons. I plan to bring students outside to learn as much as possible. They will be able to bring the yoga mat and their supply pouch outside, then wipe down the yoga mat before another student uses it. I have also requested air filters for the two air purifiers that have been donated to our classroom. These will enable the students and teachers to breathe in clean air when we are indoors, reducing the threat of sickness, thus ensuring optimal learning!
