  • Winter Wear for Our At-Need Community

    Funded Oct 24, 2024

Thank you so much for your support! My students are very grateful for the opportunity to create usable pieces of clothing that will directly benefit our community. Hats, gloves, scarves, and other items not always available to students and community members will bring everyone so much joy and love. Your help is greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. White

  • A Student Forward Art Room: Flexible Seating and Organization

    Funded Sep 10, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom! I am so excited to keep creating a positive classroom environment for my students this school year. My students will be able to have a space that they feel confident and comfortable in. I would not be able to have done this without your generosity!”

  • Sewing Machine for Future Fashion Designers

    Funded Nov 14, 2023

Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom! I am very excited to give my students the chance to learn important skills as well as further their career options. We would not have this opportunity without your generosity and caring for our community here at HSEF. I hope that this sewing machine will help many students this year as well as many years to come!”

  • Art Materials to Build Community and Tell Our Stories!

    Funded Dec 9, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation! As we are continuing to move on from remote learning, these supplies will have a great impact on my students. My students have been really into making great hands-on art rather than being on computers. It is really enriching their high school experience. They will be excited to hear the great news!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. White

This classroom project was brought to life by A Generous Donor.
After over a year of remote and hybrid learning, my students are finally all coming back into the classroom! As an art teacher, I often hear the, "I can't make art" or "Ms. I can't draw. I can't do this." Especially since many did not have art in middle school. But after some time, students realize that our classroom is a community that supports all art exploration. I have students that come into the art room excited to start a painting for the first time or try a new art material! This year I am focusing on supporting my students by giving them access to as many different techniques and materials, while also encouraging them to tell their stories and build community. With these supplies, students will have the opportunity to use a lightbox to help with designing drafts of zines, drawing pens and pencils will be used for illustration and observational drawing projects, and yarn is a great tool for yarn paintings as well as multimedia collages, sculptures, and collagraph printmaking. I want these students to have access to as many different materials as I can so they can leave here have a breadth of experiences!
