My War, Protest, and Popular Culture class immerses themselves in the study of civil rights in America for 6 weeks. We connect history to modern day. As civil rights continue to be a social justice topic in America, it is even more important for students to understand their role in rights and justice in America. They also are learning how to have discussions about race and be responsible and caring citizens. By helping my students gain a deeper understanding about civil rights, they will grow to be informed and connected adults who will be our future community leaders.
