  • Cozy Communication in Speech Therapy

    Thank you so much for your generous donations. Since receiving the materials from Donors Choose, my students have been able to enjoy a more comfortable space in speech therapy. It is important for my preschool students to feel comfortable. There has been an increase in motivation to participate with the new materials. They enjoy participating in speech therapy activities while sitting on the bean bag chair and various floor cushions. Many students are able to communicate using the iPad through a high tech communication program. We truly appreciate your donation!”

  • Speech Safety! - Individualized Speech Therapy Materials

    Thank you for your support during these challenging times. Your donations were greatly appreciated by my students. When reading interactive books that were created with the donated materials (velcro, laminating pages) my students learn how to communicate using core words, which are words that are commonly used (i.e. help, make, more, eat).

    My students benefit from visuals, which were also created with donated materials (i.e. my turn/your turn boards, token boards). Token boards were created to help encourage participation and attention.

    My students enjoy reading books about animals! The farm book set is used to help increase expressive vocabulary by labeling animals. Thank you for all the support!”

Individual pouches and multiple packs of materials are needed to store materials separately for each student. Individualized pouches will help keep materials separated. Board books and markers can easily be wiped down! Preschool students need interactive materials and hands-on activities to develop their communication skills. While some preschool students need individualized, separate materials for in-person speech therapy sessions, others need digital materials to participate remotely. Digital activities will be purchased with the teachers-pay-teachers gift card. Communication boards will be created and sent to families at home. Thank you to all donors who will help supply my special education preschool students for speech therapy! You are greatly appreciated!
