I've been using a jerry-rigged "document camera" to create videos to show my students how to close read. This process takes a really long time to pre-record, upload, and edit the videos. A document camera would allow me to teach students LIVE how to close read and annotate texts, which is such an important skill to have! We spend a lot of time talking about the habits of good readers, what things are important to note in a text, and how to CRITICALLY think about what we read. This document camera would go such a long way in helping me equip my students to be great readers!
